Christine Harper is a Medicare Compliance Attorney and Medicare Set-Aside (MSA) specialist in the Atlanta office of Atlas Settlement Group. Christine specializes in assisting clients nationwide with all elements of Medicare Compliance under the Medicare Secondary Payer Act. Specifically, she advises clients in all types of Medicare issues, including the use of Medicare Set-Asides (MSAs) in workers’ compensation, no-fault and liability claims. Christine focuses her practice on providing advice to adjusters, claim handlers and attorneys resolving claims in the MSP arena. She also works with a team of Medicare Set-Aside (MSA) allocators in providing assistance in MSA projections for use in settlements and for submission to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Christine utilizes her legal training and background to research the current compliance regulations and provide guidance to claims adjusters, handlers, attorneys, technicians, and settlement specialists as to the current federal guidelines for both pre and post settlement obligations. She has lectured on the topic of Medicare compliance nationwide, utilizing her legal background in claims litigation to assist in examining the current regulations. She has authored articles for the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) Risk Financing & Claims Newsletter and Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC) Quarterly, and publishes The Atlas Report, which can be found on the Atlas Settlement Group website and is distributed regularly to a large readership.

Before her involvement in the MSA arena, Christine worked as insurance defense counsel for two of Atlanta and the Southeast’s largest risk industry litigation firms. She focused on workers’ compensation defense litigation, representing Employers and Insurers in work related injury claims. Christine is a graduate of Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and Mercer University School of Law in Macon, Georgia. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and a graduate of the 2008 Leadership Academy of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia.
